# Texas Election Websites Active in 2026

## 25 official sites. 553 active unofficial domains. How to tell them apart.

With Texas’s 2026 elections in focus, Attaxion researchers mapped the unofficial domains built on the names of candidates, election offices and the election itself, and compared their infrastructure with 25 official sites.

### What the investigation uncovered

→ 626 unofficial election-related domains registered since January 2025, with 553 holding DNS records when checked

→ Near copies of 12 official addresses, including candidate websites and voter information portals

→ DNS, hosting and registration patterns that help distinguish unofficial domains from official sites

Key findings

## One election. More than 600 unofficial domains.

Candidate names and election offices appear across hundreds of unofficial domains. Mapping these names and the infrastructure behind them helps identify which ones deserve a closer look.

626

### Unofficial domains found

Registered since January 2025 on election-related names. 553 of them had DNS records when checked.

12

### Official addresses imitated

Near copies of official domain names included candidate websites and election-office portals such as VoteTexas.gov.

61

### Domains with warning signs

11% of unofficial domains with DNS records had a flagged IP address or a link to a batch of domains registered together.

96%

### Official sites have mail records

Compared with 23.7% of unofficial domains with DNS records, revealing a clear difference in their infrastructure.

Why it matters

## Familiar names. Different infrastructure. What the records reveal.

Official sites had more infrastructure behind them: 40% had more than five subdomains, compared with 3.4% of unofficial domains with DNS records. The full report shows how subdomains, DNS records, hosting and registration patterns help distinguish official sites from unofficial domains and identify names that warrant further investigation—a method that applies to any brand people trust.
